Since I’m bringing home a new Mastiff
puppy, I figured I’d better build a doghouse for him and
my two other dogs, Sherah and Jake.
Sherah is an 8 year-old German Shepherd /
Siberian Husky Mix. She a good sized dog – about 80
pounds. Little Jake is almost 3 years old and only
weighs about 26 pounds. He’s a Pit Bull / Golden
Retriever mix.
The dogs have a pretty big fenced dog run
that attaches directly to the garage and is separated
from my huge back yard by a 4 foot chain link fence.
But, they still don’t have any kind of a house to
shelter them from the freezing cold in the winter, or
the blazing heat in the summer. (We live in
southwestern Colorado, so we get all kinds of weather
extremes)
The design for this doghouse has changed
about a half-dozen times as my thought process becomes
more grandeur. Currently, the house is set at 4’ x
8’ with 32” walls, a 20” x 24” door, and a 24” x 24”
window (yes, it opens). As I progress
through the construction / re-design of the mansion,
I’ll try to keep this updated.
